Car fire and three-car crash affecting traffic on A30 – updates

A vehicle fire is causing delays on the A30 at Summercourt this evening.

All traffic is being temporarily held due to the fire and smoke blowing across both the eastbound and westbound carriageways.

Traffic and travel system, Inrix, reports that the incident has happened between the A30 Westbound at Summercourt Central and the Newquay turn off, to the A3076 at the Mitchell turn off.

Inrix reports: “All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to vehicle fire and smoke blowing across the road on A30 Westbound from A30 (Summercourt Central / Newquay Turn Off, Summercourt) to A3076 (Mitchell Turn Off, Mitchell).

“Traffic was held around 17:45, affecting traffic heading towards Redruth, however smoke is affecting both directions.”

There has also been a three-vehicle crash on the A30 at Three Burrows.

Inrix reports: “A30 in both directions partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident, three cars involved from A390 (Chiverton Cross roundabout, Three Burrows) to B3284 (Allet Turn Off, Allet).

“Affecting traffic between Rudruth and Carland Cross.”
