A three-year-old child has been taken to hospital following a three-car crash on the A30 near Hayle late last night.
A woman in her 40s was also seriously injured in the incident which took place just after 10pm on the main road at Loggans.
The casualties were taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske where the child was found to have sustained cuts and bruises and the woman serious injuries to her ribs.
The A30 was closed for accident investigation work but fully reopened just after 7am.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 10pm last night to the A30 at Loggans, Hayle following reports of a collision involving three vehicles.
“Emergency services attended the scene where a woman in her 40s and a three-year-old child, were suspected to have suffered serious injuries and were both taken to Treliske hospital.
“The child was later found to have sustained cuts and bruises and the woman has sustained serious injuries to her ribs.
“The A30 was closed overnight to allow for investigative work – the A30 eastbound has since reopened.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 1156 30/07/20.”
