Drivers taken to hospital after head-on crash on A39

Two drivers have been taken to hospital this morning after a head-on crash on A39 in North Cornwall.

Police say their injuries are believed to be minor, but at 8.40am the road remain partially blocked at Kilkhampton, near Bude and the Devon border.

Meanwhile, a crash involving a cyclist and car has been reported in Bodmin. The collision happened as parts of Cornwall were covered in thick fog.

Regarding the A39 crash, a police spokesperson said: “Police were notified at around 7.35am on the A39 at Kilkhampton in Bude to reports of a head-on collision between two vehicles.

“Appears both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital.”

Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix reports: “A39 partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident, two cars involved near the Broadworthey turn off. Affecting traffic between Meddon and Kilkhampton.

“Reports of accident, a car and a bicicyle involved on A389 Westheath Avenue near the Garden Centre. Traffic is coping well.”
