Comedy Night at The Social

4 February @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The Social presents: COMEDY CLUB – February 4th
For February’s Comedy Club, we have 4 incredible performers taking to The Social’s stage. 🤩
First up, our master of ceremonies for the evening:
David Arnold is a loveable Welshman who never fails to deliver a well-rounded and polished performance that has his audience laughing throughout. He is fast developing a reputation as one of the South Wests’ brightest talents and is one not to be missed.
Based in Plymouth, David regularly performs throughout the UK for some of the country’s biggest promoters and as well as some notable festival appearances (including Volksfest, Boardmasters and Download) he has won critical acclaim in competitions such as So You Think You’re Funny, Comedy Gladiators and the South Coast Comedian of the Year.
With comedians:
Jack Campbell is a stand-up comedian. Originating from rural Cambridgeshire, Jack now lives in Leicester and gigs all over the country.
Winner of English Comedian of the Year 2014, Jack has even performed in Australia, Germany, Finland, Latvia and Estonia.
Jack has always loved stand-up comedy and began performing whilst at De Montfort University, Leicester in 2009.
Ashish Suri is an observational storyteller with anecdotes based on his own experiences and those of the people around him. He is a softly-spoken, modest man – ingratiating even when it comes to sex – and exploits his awkwardness in his set. He also touches on racism he’s experienced, calmly discussing it as if it were just another odd social encounter, but now getting his own back in his own quiet way.
Scottish comedian Alan Francis first came to the notice of comedy audiences when he won Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny Award in 1991. Since then his reputation has grown as a writer, stand-up and actor.
His diverse acting roles include the award winning play PENETRATOR at the Royal Court and Traverse Theatre. On television he continues to work as a writer/performer on Alistair McGowan’s ‘Big Impression’ (BBC 1 – 4 series). The show won Best Entertainment Show at the British Comedy Awards 2000.
On radio Alan co-starred on ‘The Alan Davies Show’ (Radio 4), which was nominated for the Best Radio Show at the 1998 British Comedy Awards.
Alan appeared in the feature film, ‘The Deb Collector’ and in 2000 he supported Rhona Cameron on her UK tour.
He’s co-wrote ‘Big Impression Euro 2004’ with Alistair McGowan and Ronnie Ancona. As an actor he was in ‘Animal House’ (on Sky 1) and ‘The Wonderful World of Dissocia’, directed by Anthony Neilson.
You won’t want to miss it!
