Dulcimers In The City – a weekend of Hammered & Appalachian Dulcimer workshops & music events

A weekend long celebration of the Hammered & Appalachian Dulcimer in the beautiful city of Truro!

Free come & try session – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play a Hammered or Appalachian Dulcimer? Well, now’s your chance to find out!
Friday 1st – 1pm-4pm. This is an informal drop in session open to all ages and abilities. An opportunity to come and tryinstruments first hand (instruments provided or bring your own). Meet local players, gather information and give it a go!

A host of Hammered & Appalachian Dulcimer workshops over the 3 days, ranging from beginners workshops led by Cornish Hammered Dulcimer players Kerensa & Carole Tallboys & Appalachian Dulcimer player Grace Biddulph – to a Sunday masterclass for more advanced hammered dulcimer players. A rare opportunity to learn from the UK’s finest Hammered Dulcimer Player Maclaine Colston.
A limited number of instruments will be provided.
Enatrance £5 per workshop (concessions available)

Dulcimers & Cream Teas – Friday evening event – an introduction to the Hammered Dulcimer & Cornish music, hosted by Cornish duo ‘Leski’ (Kerensa – Hammered Dulcimer & Richard Trethewey – Fiddle / vocals), with spots from guest musicians / singers.
Cream Tea’s & light refreshments available.
Entrance £6 (Concessions available)

‘Dulce Melos’ – A Saturday evening concert featuring renowned Hammered Dulcimer / Melodeon duo ‘Maclaine Colston & Saul Rose’ – supported by Appalachian Dulcimer player Grace Biddulph & newly formed Cornish Hammered Dulcimer duo ‘Hwegyn Kan’.
Entrance £10 (Concessions available)

Sunday afternoon music session! Open to all musicians – free entry – the perfect way to round off the weekend.
