Garland Workshops

9 November @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

Book onto one of our FREE Garland workshops to co-create a mid-winter banquet style piece to display in the community spaces at our farm. Collaborate with like-minded people and get hands on, led by experienced arts practitioners.

Two circular garlands will be created across these workshops. These will be suspended in the farm shop and above the community feast table in the Castle Polytunnel to bring the outside in, and to add some creativity and evergreen colour throughout the Winter season.

Who can come:

These garland workshops are best suited for ages 8-88+! Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

What to expect:

Experienced practitioners John Keys and Alessandra Ausenda from Tough Dough will guide you through the process of creating a community garland within a fun and supportive environment. You will design and create garlands as a group, using willow and plants from the farm and surrounding areas.

Breaktime refreshments and resources are provided. The workshop will take place outdoors if the weather is fine, or inside our multi-use community polytunnel. Please wear sturdy footwear (trainers or boots) and weather-appropriate clothing (sun hats and sun block if hot, layered clothing if cold).

What to bring:

  • Gardening gloves if you own a pair, but we do have spares
  • Evergreen branches: holly, bay, ivy, and berries etc to use in the garland

In partnership with Tough Dough and Artswell, funded by Levelling-Up.
