Lost Wax Jewellery Making Workshop

11 November @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

£100

Join us for the Lost Wax Workshop at The Princess Pavillion!

Get ready to unleash your creativity and learn the ancient art of lost wax casting.

This in-person group event will take place onSaturday, November 11th, 2023 at 11:00 AM GMT. Located at 5 minute walk from Gyllyngvase Beach, this workshop provides the perfect setting for you to explore this fascinating technique.

During the workshop, you will be guided by experienced instructor who will teach you the step-by-step process of creating unique jewelry pieces using the lost wax method.

The workshop will begin with looking through inspirational content, then designing your ideas on paper. You may have an idea already in mind, and advise you to bring any items that inspire you, or you want to use as reference.

Then you will shown the different waxes, and the techniques and tools you can use to produce the gorgeous piece you desire. This is when the fun begins and you can begin to model your piece, either through carving, or sculpting, whichever wax feels right for you to work with.

Elle will send your pieces off to the trusted Hatton Gardens casters for your lost wax to be cast into your preferred metal; bronze or brass.

This can take up to 2 – 3 weeks but is absolutely worth the wait.

Once your pieces are cast and sent back to Elle’s studio. She will do the final stages of finishing and polishing, and send them back to you.

We can map out the workshop that caters to what you wish from it, but most importantly; you having a piece of your own hand made jewels.

No prior experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience in jewelry making, this workshop is a fantastic opportunity to dive into the world of lost wax casting and unleash your artistic side.

The session will run for approximately 2/3 hours, tea and cake will be provided.

Price includes tutorial, materials and tools, casting fee and servicing (finishing and polishing).

Please feel free to bring a packed lunch if you want.
