Princess May Community Day – Saturday 7th June, 11am–5pm

Join us at the Princess May Recreation Ground in Penzance for a vibrant day of community spirit, celebration, and family fun!

This year’s Community Day is extra special as we honour the life and legacy of Melville Durrant, a much-loved volunteer who dedicated countless hours to caring for the Rec. A memorial service will be held at 11:30am, open to all who wish to pay their respects and celebrate his contribution to the space we all enjoy.

The day is packed with activities for all ages. Here’s what you can expect:

🐾 Dog Show (from 12pm) – Hosted by Rosevean Vets, with fun classes like Waggiest Tail, Cutest Puppy, Golden Oldie, Best Look-A-Like, Fabulous Fellow, and Lovely Lass. Plus, visit dog-focused trade stalls and enjoy an exciting demo from Woofing Wild!

🎸 Live Bands & Music – Enjoy a range of local musical talent throughout the day from the main stage.

🛹 BMX & Skate Jam – Watch live demos and join the action at the skate bowl. All ages welcome to bring their wheels and get involved!

🎨 Kids Zone – Includes face painting, hair wraps, bouncy castles, games and more to keep the little ones entertained all day long.

🌿 Lifestyle & Wellness Zone – Explore community health and wellbeing with sauna experiences, workshops, and local wellness traders.

🛍️ Trade & Info Stalls – Discover a wide variety of local businesses, community organisations, and charities offering information, crafts, products, and career insights.

🍔 Food Court – Tuck into tasty treats from a wide range of food vendors offering everything from sweet bakes to sizzling savouries.

🌼 Community Consultation – Help shape the future of the Rec! Share your ideas and feedback with those who care for and manage this cherished space.
