SUMMARY:That Brit Pop Band
DESCRIPTION:That Britpop Band have quickly become widely regarded as the UK’s ultimate Britpop Tribute band\, covering songs from the genre’s obvious big-hitters such as Oasis\, Blur\, Pulp\, and The Verve; to the often-unsung heroes like Supergrass and Shed Seven. The band leave no Britpop-shaped stone unturned in their fast-paced\, high-energy tribute show. The band itself is comprised of four musicians whose combined gigging history would put the most seasoned of players to shame! Having played all over the world from New Zealand to Old Camden Town with the likes of Bill Wyman\, Bad Manners\, Babyshambles\, The View\, Ben Waters\, John Power (to name but a few)\, it’s fairly safe to say that these boys know their way around the stage! \n

SUMMARY:Celebrating George Michael
DESCRIPTION:The Oggymen @ St Ives September Festival \nFrom Falmouth\, The Oggymen have built a reputation for tight harmonies and inspiring performances that convey the rugged beauty of Cornwall. The Cornish have a proud tradition of expressing their loves\, beliefs\, hopes and fears through music. Songs chart the history of Cornwall’s past\, the hardships of life as a tin miner\, the peril of those at sea\, or longing for family and familiarity whilst working a long way from home. These songs are part of our culture; a bridge to both the past and the future. As we grew up in Falmouth we heard these songs regularly. Fathers sung them in male voice choirs\, friends sung them after working boat races and we all sing them down the pub…

SUMMARY:Generation Rock live at the Acorn Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Looking for exciting night out of rock music fun? Generation Rock are bringing their high octane rock tribute music show to the Acorn Theatre on Friday 21 August. Now touring UK theatres\, Generation Rock are a 6 piece band that bring you the best rock anthems and hits from across the ages\, from the 70s to the present day. \n“Fantastic band\, singers\, musicians and absolute entertainment. Thanks for a fantastic evening.” (Teri\, Hassocks) \n“Fantastic band to get your feet tapping and singing along.” (Geoff\, Melksham) \n“What a fantastic night at Chequer Mead! Wall to wall hits from start to finish.  The energy the band delivered was infectious and everyone was singing along by the end of the night.” (Alec\, Maidstone) \nYou can expect to hear the best hits from artists such as Elton John\, Toto\, Pat Benetar\, Alanis Morrisette\, The Police\,  ZZ Top\, Rainbow\, Tina Turner\, Whitesnake\, Prince and many more besides. Featuring musicians drawn from leading UK tribute bands\, the band are guaranteed to get you dancing in the aisles and singing at the top of your voice. The shows starts at 7:30PM and runs for around two and a half hours including an interval. \nGeneration Rock features no less than four vocalists and is fronted by the powerhouse team of “Lady Deee” Deanna Wicks  and “Purple Haze” Hazelle Woodhurst-White. The band features Kingsley Sage and Joe Boult (keys and guitar/vocals respectively in the leading UK tribute “DS:UK In Tribute to Dire Straits”)\, Jay Wadey (drums for the “Vox Beatles”) and Matt Francis (bass). \nYou can see more about the band members on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_xZfTTFPMr4 where you can hear how Joe was a fan of Billy Idol’s guitarist Steve Stevens – which explains why we had to have Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” as one of the highlights of the Generation Rock set\, and Hazelle is a fan of “Barracuda” by Heart – another firm set favourite. \nYou can find out more about Generation Rock\, including all upcoming tour dates across the UK\,  at their website at: https://www.generationrockband.com/ or check out their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/generationrockuk \nAdvance tickets for the show at the Acorn Theatre on Friday 21 August can be purchased from the Acorn Theatre website at:  https://www.theacornpenzance.com/events/generation-rock/ \nThe Acorn Theatre is on Parade Street in Penzance. Do help support live music in Cornwall and across the wider UK\, as venues such at the Acorn Theatre are the vital lifeblood of UK live music entertainment. \nSo whether your “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” or you’re just a “Long Way from the Top (for Rock and Roll)” join Generation Rock at the Acorn Theatre this August for a fun night of rock music fun. Bring your own air guitar\, and come and meet the band afterwards!
