Four In a Bed guest marks down B&B for ‘screw on wardrobe’

Wednesday’s instalment of Four In a Bed saw the third hosts of this week’s competition – Billy and Tracy of The Queens at Horton in Shropshire.

With countryside views, cooked breakfast included in the price and luxurious decor, it looked like nothing could go wrong.

And aside from some loose screws, marks on the bed and limescale, it all seemed sweet sailing – especially when host Billy donned his captain’s hat and took his guests on a boat tour along the River Severn.

As is the case with Four In a Bed episodes, viewers were waiting in anticipation for the morning after and the all important breakfast.

Claire, Kenny and Ben were first to voice their qualms to camera.

They complained about the noise, with the two men saying they could hear vans and tractors driving past on the main road outside and Claire saying she could “hear all the noises in the building”.

Breakfast seemed to go down a treat, with the exception of a couple of bits of ‘overcooked’ eggs and bacon, so fans had started to believe that no drama was to come of the episode.

When it came to feedback forms, however, yesterday’s hosts Claire and Tony shocked viewers with their scores.

Claire, who has been joined in the competition with her friend and colleague Tony, marked The Queens at Horton down for a number of things, including mashed avocado that she would’ve preferred to have been sliced, a ‘heavy quilt’ and even a screw on the top of the wardrobe.

When she and Tony had been inspecting Claire’s room, she had discovered more than dust on the top of the wardrobe.

She found a spare piece of wood, as well as a loose screw, marking today’s hosts down by three points because of it.

Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts, with @JoeBloggsJnr writing: “I’m sure that loose screw on top of the wardrobe that you couldn’t see didn’t keep you awake at night #fourinabed”.

While @helenhlns1 said: “Claire supplied cheap bedding maybe she doesn’t enjoy superior bedding #fourinabed”.

And @Bill_Cameron was confused by the whole thing, tweeting: “I can honestly say I’ve never searched along the top of a wardrobe in an hotel. #fourinabed”.
