Love Actually star Martine McCutcheon is enjoying a last-minute Staycation in Cornwall with her five-year-old son – and says she’s loving it, actually.
Even though the weather has been a bit iffy the actress, best known for her starring role with Huge Grant in one of the world’s most-watched films, has been in Penzance and now St Ives and is loving the friendly people, as well as the crab sandwiches, Cornish ice cream and the cosy guest house.
It followed an appeal for best UK Staycation ideas as she admitted that she had left school holiday planning to the last-minute.
She published a picture on her Instagram account, wearing a sunshine yellow neck bandana, and said: “Ok! So we are on a little road trip! I’m currently rocking my Cornish bandana and can’t wait to experience the crab sandwiches and Cornish ice cream! Weather is a bit hit and miss but so it’s been so much fun and the people are so friendly!
“P.S Thank you SO much to Sally and Tony at the Agapanthus Guest House in Penzance for looking after us so brilliantly and very last minute! You gave us such great recommendations and the house was so cosy. You guys rock! Next Stop: St Ives.”
Earlier the actress and pop singer admitted she had left school summer holiday plans until the last minute and asked her Instagram followers for ideas for a UK Staycation.
She published a family picture with husband, singer Jack McManus saying: “Throw back to when we knew what to do with our summer holidays! I’ve been really busy with work lately – generally I’ve been juggling a lot and all of a sudden boom! The summer holidays are upon us!”
“Rafferty’s been asking me what the summer holiday plans are… Normally I’m all organised and excited for our little adventure but this year I’ve been a bit rubbish! Going abroad is obviously still bit iffy and (the real reason) one of our passports is also out of date so that’s not an option ☹️I tried to redeem myself by quickly googling places in the uk and it seems every single hotel, cottage, apartment, tent and sleeping bag is booked up till October! f you guys have any ideas or inspo for some lovely family holidays, or fun days out let me know… Oh dear… They don’t call me lightening for nothin!”
Her Instagram story also showed pretty pictures of Penzance. She also shared a picture cuddling her little boy who is wearing his favourite pirate outfit – and well-wrapped up for a windswept walk by the sea.
