Major rescue operation launched in Cornwall

A major rescue operation is currently ongoing to bring an injured man on a cliff to safety.

Police, paramedics, coastguard crews, the coastguard helicopter and Bude RNLI are all assisting with the incident between Crackington Haven and Boscastle this evening.

Devon and Cornwall Police Force Incident Manager, who oversees all live incidents across the region, confirmed that a number of emergency services, including the police, were in the process of rescuing an “injured” male.

The FIM said: “We are in the process of a rescue operation of a male on a cliff.

“He is injured.”

Falmouth Coastguard, who oversees all live coastguard incidents across the region, confirmed that it was assisting police with an incident on the north coast of Cornwall.
