A man who suffered serious injuries after falling from scaffolding has been airlifted to hospital.
The incident happened at Rilla Mill, near Upton Cross on the edge of Bodmin Moor, at about 4pm yesterday (Wednesday, August 26).
The man sustained a head injury after the fall.
The fire service, the ambulance service and the air ambulance all attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “One appliance from Liskeard fire station assisted ambulance staff with a male who was trapped in low level scaffold. He had fallen between the scaffold and foundations and sustained a head injury.
“The crew rescued him from the scaffold and assisted ambulance staff with transferring him on a spinal board to the waiting air ambulance.”
A spokesperson for Cornwall Air Ambulance confirmed that the man was subsequently taken to hospital.
They said: “The air ambulance was tasked to this incident yesterday where they gave pre-hospital critical care to an adult male at the scene, conveyed him by helicopter to Derriford Hospital where his care was passed into the hands of the hospital medics.”
