A man had to be helicoptered to hospital with multiple injuries after falling from cliffs by the Minack Theatre.
Lands End Coastguard Search & Rescue Team reported the incident, which occurred shortly after 12.30pm today, on their Facebook page.
After the fall, the casualty was transported to Porthcurno before being transferred by helicopter to hospital.
There is no further word on his condition.
The report said: “We were tasked today at 12:32 to reports that a person had fallen from the cliff near the Minack Theatre and sustained multiple injuries.
“We made the area safe with our rope equipment and, once the casualty was stabilised by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Cornwall Air Ambulance, we evacuated by stretcher with support from Penzance Coastguard Rescue Team to Porthcurno where he was transferred by ambulance to a waiting helicopter and by air to hospital for further treatment.
“Remember, if you see someone in difficulty near the coast call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
A yellow weather warning remains in place for much of the south of England, with wind speeds approaching 60mph being reported in the area.
