Swanpool Beach, Falmouth muddy water pollutes sea

THE pristine blue water of Swanpool Beach were ruined yesterday as a brown sludge poured into the water turning it a muddy brown.

These pictures were sent to the Packet by Helen Brown who said it looked like it had come from the building site at the top of the road, even though there wasn’t that much rain last night.

The muddy water poured into Swanpool waters

It would appear that this is the responsibility of Cornwall Council to investigate to see if any laws have been breached or planning regulations due to the development going on up the road.

The pollution was particularly horrifying as it was a stark contrast to the crystal blue waters thatg are popular with dog walkers and swimmers.

It is particularly worrying if it is to continue once lockdown is lifted.

Cornwall Council has been contacted for a statement.
