Elderly man cut free from wreckage after two car collision near Penryn roundabout

Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A39 between Falmouth and Truro, near the Penryn Roundabout, at approximately 8:03pm on Thursday, November 7.

Crews from Falmouth and Tolvaddon fire stations, along with a fire service officer, attended the incident involving two vehicles, one of which had overturned. Police, ambulance crews, and Cornwall Air Ambulance were also in attendance.

Firefighters worked swiftly to stabilise the overturned vehicle before using crash rescue equipment to extricate an elderly male occupant. He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital by land ambulance. His condition is currently unknown.

The road was partially closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, causing delays for motorists in the area.

Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
